People/Pet Portrait Oil Painting with Darla Donley

An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Friday, repeating until January 27, 2023
Dates: Fridays, January 6, 13, 20 and 27, 10am-2pm
Have you wanted to paint a realistic portrait of your loved one or pet, but didn’t know where to begin? In this ongoing oil painting class, students will learn an old master’s portrait technique that includes a burnt umber underpainting. All skill levels welcome.
Students will learn the value scale, hue variations, skin tone variations, brush techniques, hair and fur strokes, glazing techniques, and much more.
Fee: $45 per class. Bring your own supplies: 16 x 20 inch, level 2 canvas from Michael’s or Hobby Lobby, brushes, paper towels, Q-tips and pointy Q-tips, palette paper, iPad with photo or 5 x 7 inch reference photo. Limited enrollment of 12 students.
