Art in the Form of Film: Kubo and the Two Strings (2016)
February 16, 2024, 5:45 pm - 9:00 pm
Date: Friday, February 16, 5:45-9pm
Set in feudal Japan and rooted in samurai fiction, Kubo tells the story of a young boy blessed with magical powers and a happy childhood until the day he accidentally summons a vengeful spirit from the past. What follows in this animated epic fantasy is Kubo’s quest to battle dark forces in order to restore his former peaceful life, but not without first learning some powerful lessons along the way. Praised for its technically advanced animation styles, Kubo is truly a visual treat for the eyes. Instructor Paul Marino will introduce the film, raise questions to ponder and host a post-viewing discussion. Presented and sponsored by Cindy and Paul Marino.
Fee: $10 includes glass of wine or bottle of beer.
