Art in the Form of Film: Jojo Rabbit (2019)
April 21, 5:45 pm - 9:00 pm
Date: Friday, April 21, 5:45-9pm
Set in Nazi Germany, JoJo Rabbit manages to be a comedy about fascism. Its plot centers around 10-year-old JoJo, a thoroughly indoctrinated member of a local Hitler Youth Club. When he discovers his single mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their attic, he maintains it’s his duty to turn her in. Through parody and satire, we witness JoJo’s evolving values and views about the intentions of Naziism. Instructor Paul Marino will introduce the film, raise questions to ponder and host a post-viewing discussion. Sponsor: Chases on the Beach, Where it’s Always Sunny.
Fee: $10 includes glass of wine or bottle of water.
