Date: Friday, January 17, 5:45-9:00pm

Directed by the great George Cukor (who also directed Philadelphia Story), Born Yesterday is a comedy classic. But the film is not all laughs, as it also touches on issues of political corruption and male bullying when junk dealer tycoon Harry Brock slaps around his “dumb blonde” girlfriend Billie Dawn. Brock decides he must hire a coach to soften Billie’s rough edges, but the plan backfires when Billie falls for the coach and discovers her own voice. Instructor Paul Marino will introduce the film, raise questions to ponder and host a post-viewing discussion.
