Florida Landscapes: A Retrospective.

Sandra DeArmas Lloyd is a native of Florida living in New Smyrna Beach with her husband Bob. She has painted all her life. Lloyd received her BFA in Art at Newcomb College, Tulane University, with post-graduate courses at Stetson University and Daytona State College for teaching art in elementary schools.

Lloyd paints in watercolor, oil and acrylics — mostly depicting the many aspects of the Florida scenery she loves. Her work is in many private and public collections, and has won many awards over the years. Several of her paintings are in the Cici and Hyatt Brown Collection, housed in the new Museum of Arts and Sciences (MOAS) Building in Daytona.

Most recently, Lloyd’s work is included in “Reflections II — Watercolors of Florida 1835-2000, From the Collection of Cici and Hyatt Brown.” The exhibit displayed works by John James Audubon, Winslow Homer, Doris Lee, Reginald Marsh, Thomas Moran, Andrew Wyeth and others. The exhibit continues through April 26. “Reflections II” includes more than 80 works from the Browns’ collection. The Daytona Beach residents, who began collecting Florida-themed art in 1997, have what the museum calls the “largest collection of Florida-based art in existence today.” Lloyd is one of three living artists included in the exhibit.
