A double Oscar winner in 1945, Gaslight tells the story of a woman (Ingrid Bergman) and her new husband moving into the house where her aunt had been murdered years before. Her husband seems to harbor a secret and he’ll stop at nothing to keep it, including tactics designed to make her think she’s going insane. His actions are so attention-grabbing that they spawned the phrase “the gaslight treatment.” Instructor Paul Marino will introduce the film, raise questions to ponder and host a post-viewing discussion.
