1st Saturday at The Hub on Canal. Saturday, October 5.
 
10am-7pm Art Connections offers an inside look at the work of more than 70 local artists. Talk to the artists and learn about the process of creating art. Explore two floors of art in one historic building in the heart of the New Smyrna Beach Arts District.
 
11am-1pm Live Music with the HubCats, The Hub’s own eclectic blues/jug band.
 
1-2pm Talk Art! featuring Troy McClenathan with Manipulating Light through Photography. Get to know this Hub artist at a fun, informal demonstration and conversation. Learn how the artist works, his media and techniques. Bring your enthusiasm for the arts and lots of questions! In the Fine Art Photography Gallery, 120 Canal.
 
1:30pm Dueling Brushes! Hub artists Frank Ferrante and Steve Hardock are in training for their painting match. Join the fun and heckle the artists as they spar and cross brushes in this live event! Enter the drawing for a chance to win the finished 30” x 48” horizontal painting of a New Smyrna Beach landmark location.
 
Tickets available at the door: $5 per ticket or $20 for 5 tickets. Proceeds benefit The Hub’s outreach programs. You do not need to be present to win.
 
4-7pm Opening Reception for the October Founders Gallery Exhibition Moving Into Abstraction, landscape and abstract paintings by Keri Ippolito. Artist’s talk at 6pm.
 
4-7pm Opening Reception for the October Fine Art Photography Gallery Exhibition We Are Not Invisible by Sybil Allen in the Fine Art Photography Gallery, 120 Canal Street.
 
All 1st Saturday events free and open to the public.
 
1st Saturday along Canal Street: NSB Farmers Market (7:30am-12:30pm), Art Stroll (10am-4pm), Craft Beer Walk (1-7pm) and Gallery Walk (4-7pm).
