James Duchon

1st Saturday – January

January 8, 10:00 am - 7:00 pm

Gallery Opening Reception from 4-7pm:

January Exhibition Opening in The Founders Gallery Expressive Strokes – Imagination, Creativity, Spirit by Red (Linda) Harrison. Contemporary abstract art sweeps away boundaries present in other styles. That opens the door for the artist to go where he or she wishes. Red (Linda) Harrison’s work is at times daring, whimsical, passionate or challenging; but it’s always expressive. The colors are saturated, the combinations striking. Textures might be created by brushes, palette knives or fingers. Harrison’s work, drawing inspiration from both nature and music, is imaginative and evocative. How will it touch you? Opening from 4-7pm. Artist’s Talk, 6pm. Exhibition through Jan 30.

Art Connections 10am-7pm: an inside look at the work of more than 60 local artists. Talk to the artists and learn about the process of creating art. Explore two floors of art in one historic building in the heart of the New Smyrna Beach Arts District.

Live Music 11am-1pm: RhythmWorks Band outside The Hub. 5-7pm: James Duchon in the Lobby.

Talk Art! from 1-2pm: Composition in Sculpture, an informal demo and conversation with Hub artist Tad Fyock.

Fee: All 1st Saturday events are free and open to the public.
