Digital Art from Photography jonoak80@gmail.com www.facebook.com/JPSullivan instagram.com/johnsullivanart“I often create digital paintings from my photography. Allowing the location or setting to guide my discovery.”
My body of work covers a wide range of topics, themes and places. The beauty of nature in its many forms, textures and colors are often a dominate subject in my work. Traveling has taken me to some extreme locations across the globe and I’ve been inspired by some of the most amazing landscapes. I would have to say, the rugged beauty of Iceland has got to be my favorite.
I’m a self-taught digital artist and fine art photographer. Over my 30 year career as a Landscape Architect, I was constantly searching for imagery to explain themes and ideas to my clients. So, I started taking pictures developing my eye and techniques. My photo library continues to grow to this day and now includes nighttime digital light painting techniques. Â
My fine art photography and digital paintings are printed on various types of archival papers as well as canvas, metal, glass and even wood.Â
Currently, I’m exploring a variety of new ideas in my art through the use of mixed media, found things and flowable paint art techniques.
