Linda Hoffmeister

Fiber Art

A true Hunter and Gatherer, the unexpected and unusual always appears in Linda’s textile
creations. A small rock, a beautiful leaf filled with holes where insects have fed, an unusual twig
or rock always fill her pockets. Nature has always played an important part in identifying who
she is as an artist and person.

Her palette is a large collection of hand dyed silks, batiks, cotton , cheesecloth and unusual
fibers. Upcycled clothing, thrift store finds, clothing off the back of friends, paints and
embellishments find their way into the pieces. The sewing machine needle is her paint brush.

Currently she has two pieces that are part of two separate traveling exhibits with SAQA, Studio
Art Quilt Associates. One of these exhibits will travel internationally. She has been published
several times, as well as winning many first place ribbons over the years. The City of New
Smyrna Beach purchased one of her pieces.
