Geraldine Bohn

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Geraldine (Gerry) Bohn. Originally from Miami, FL, I’ve traveled the Caribbean, Europe, Scandinavia, Hawaii and most of the United States. A few places I’ve called home are: Oslo, Norway; North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii; Colorado, California and currently, Edgewater, FL.
In the 1980’s, I became interested in learning the art of watercolor. Teaching myself to watercolor was very frustrating, I had reached a plateau. My passion and tenacious personality wouldn’t allow me to quit painting. So, to gain confidence and enhance my skills, I needed help. I was very fortunate to meet and study with Bolinas, CA artist, Sally Robertson and Northern CA artist, Sylvia Glover Hittenberger.
Just about anything inspires me! For example, flowers, especially, orchids; beach scenes; sunrises and sunsets; birds, especially, my 19 year old green wing macaw, Ruby.
I enjoy painting the wet on wet technique, allowing the paint to work its magic as it interacts with the wet paper.
My essentials are: Da Vinci paints, Silver Black Velvet paint brushes, Yupo, Windsor Newton and Arches 140lb cold and hot pressed paper.
I hope you enjoy my work and your Hub experience.
